Would you like a map of New Zealand with that?
I rarely go to McDonalds, and even more rarely do I ‘eat in’, but this morning I did - and this is what appeared on my tray. The fry in the middle is not real - it is printed on to the paper, and bent into a shape resembling this country, New Zealand.
Here’s the text of the caption:
Last year over 95% of the produce we used was grown right here in New Zealand. Our fries, for instance, are made from the highest quality Russet Burbank potatoes gorwn on Canterbury farms. Take a fresh look.I have sent this in to Strange Maps, a blog I enjoy - but I’m not sure if the image quality is good enough! (Photo was taken with my mobile phone.)
Update 11 Dec 2008: Yes, it is indeed on Strange Maps!
